TMUG 2013 Developers Roundtable Transcript

 This year at the TMUG Conference, end users got the opportunity to ask Tim Caine (Chief Technology Officer) and Randy Cannady (Director of Engineering) about some of the new features in the works for the ThinManager Platform 7 release later this year, offer suggestions to improve functionality from an end user perspective , and discuss future features and options.  Questions were also fielded online from various ThinManager users around the world.  The following is a list of those questions and the responses provided at the Developers Roundtable. -Clear second mac from database when clearing Terminal ID.

-Fix detection of feature support by model.

ThinServer:

-Fix to tftp thread startup/shutdown.

-Take into account second MAC when identifying hardware in DHCP server.

-Fixed registry entry default values.

-Added package validation to database integrity check.

-Fixed module parameters returned by stored procedure.

-Fix to cleanup of entries in database when monitor connection lost.

-During replacement use PIC ids to determine if it is appropriate to set model back to Generic/PXE. [...]

ThinManager Q&A

Here at ACP we are constantly speaking to customers and integrators about their experiences with the ThinManager Platform so we can continue to improve our product and provide better service.  Recently, we had an opportunity to speak with John Tertin, from ESE Inc. to discuss the challenges involved in completing their small scale ThinManager deployment for Mariani Packing Company.

-Delete workstation nodes before restoring configuration.

ThinServer build 6003:

-Fix module installation on synced ThinServers.

-PXE server was not correctly stopped/started after restoring configuration.

-Fixed sync of packages that did not exist on both ThinServers.

-Restart tftp thread after restoring configuration when necessary.

-Fix disable of Terminal Server when using DNS.

-Changed queuing to better accommodate Delta V users licensing requirements.

-Fixed installation of firmware from synchronized slave. [...]

ACP ThinManager to release Munici-Pack Licensing
