I have an HP thin client dual monitor display extended setting mode with resolution 3840 by 1200. \u00a0Will ThinManager be able to support the MultiMonitor with extended mode?<\/em><\/p>\n

The MultiMonitor<\/a> feature will allow a session to span 2+ monitors. The maximum resolution supported in an RDP Session (an RDP session may span multiple monitors) is 4096×2048.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are currently using ThinManager 4.0 and are looking to upgrade to Windows Server 2008 as well as ThinManager 6.0 Xli. \u00a0When I look at the Xli compatibility list, our thin client (Arista ARP-1615AP-ACP) is not in there.\u00a0 I\u2019m a little confused as to what Xli is.\u00a0 Does that mean our thin client will not work with version 6.0?<\/em><\/p>\n

XLi is a ThinManager licensing platform that was introduced as an all in one\u2019 licensing package, that allows for unlimited functionality (up to your connection count) of the software. The XLi Compatibility List<\/a> is a list of clients that we have tested that will PXE (Network) Boot from ThinManager. The Advantage of using PXE booting with XLi is that it allows for many more choices of Thin Clients (possibly some that we have not even tested here in the office).<\/strong><\/p>\n

If your clients were supported by ThinManager 4.0 then it is compatible with all newer versions as well. \u00a0Each new release of the software will only expand the list of makes\/models supported, not reduce it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are currently upgrading to ThinManager 6.0\u00a0as well as adding new thin clients.\u00a0 We have mirrored redundancy on two Microsoft Server 2008 R2 servers. Each terminal has 4 or more display clients.\u00a0 After 30+ seconds of no user input, the terminal switches to a tiled display, even though only 1 of the display clients is initiated at boot-up and actually active.\u00a0 I don’t want the tiled display unless the operator specifically chooses it from the display client selection drop-down.\u00a0 I’ve removed the MultiSession screen saver module from the terminals, but it is still happening.\u00a0 How do I turn off the automatic tiling?<\/p>\n

Open the Terminal Configuration Wizard, navigate to the Terminal Interface Options page and select the Tiling Options button to launch the Tile Options window.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n
Setting the Tile Inactivity Time (secs) to “0” will keep it from tiling automatically.<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n

We are currently using ThinManager 6.0 XLi and have\u00a0a standalone PC on the plant floor\u00a0controlling a device.\u00a0 This standalone PC is normally accessed\/viewed\u00a0using VNC through iFix.\u00a0 Can we setup a display client to use VNC to connect to this standalone PC?<\/p>\n

You can install WinTMC<\/a> and the WinTMC Shadow Client on this PC and use the Terminal Shadow display client to view the desktop from that terminal.<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
You will need to make sure the Shadow Port number is set to 5900, which is the standard VNC port. You will also need to change it in ThinManager so we don’t conflict with your existing VNC deployment. This is changed on the Shadow Configuration page of the ThinManager Server Configuration Wizard.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/div>\n
