Medical Equipment Manufacturing
PROBLEM:
• IT maintaining and updating 100+ PCs on a weekly basis.
SOLUTION:
• Deployed thin clients and ThinManager’s WinTMC to existing PCs.
• IT can now manage and update the servers that deliver the application.
The IT department of a medical company had to patch and update over 100 PCs, usually every week, to deliver the latest version of Microsoft Office.
They switched to ThinManager and were able to move most of the users to ThinManager Ready thin clients. This allowed them to support and maintain two Office Suite terminal servers instead of 60 PCs.

ACP’s ThinManager version 4.1 release is scheduled for March 21, 2011 and will be demonstrated live at our TMUG User Group taking place in Atlanta March 29-31. (Register for TMUG2011)
ThinManager 4.1 will include the much anticipated support for virtual machine environments. Users who currently enjoy ThinManager’s ease-of-use when managing their terminal servers and thin clients will now have that same capability when it comes to virtual terminal server and desktop management. VM resources will appear in the ThinManager tree along with other sources currently available.

Use ThinManager to Shadow PCs
The other day I spoke with a company that wanted to monitor and control 400 PCs scattered around their plant. Believe it or not, this is actually a job for ThinManager!
All that is needed is a ThinManager license and a copy of WinTMC for each PC. In this case a single ThinManager Enterprise Server license would be the correct choice. You would not even need a Terminal Server. Because WinTMC also runs as a service, the administrator could use easily shadow and control each PC without even having the PC logged in.
